Former CARCASS Members Give First Interview In Five Years
May 30, 2003An in-depth interview with former members of the U.K. grindcore/death metal pioneers CARCASS is set to be exclusively posted at www.earache.com at 5:00 p.m. U.K. time (12:00 noon EST) on Friday, May 30. Some interesting news will reportedly be revealed during the legendary band's first interview in five years.
One of the standout extreme metal bands of the end of 80's, CARCASS gained notoriety for their liberal use of medical terms in their lyrics and song titles. The band ended on a down note prior to the release of 1996's "Swansong" following a switch to a more conventional metal sound and extensive history of record company problems. Three of the members went on to form the apparently short-lived BLACKSTAR, while guitarist Bill Steer formed a stoner rock band by the name of FIREBIRD. Another ex-member, guitarist Michael Amott, has since made a mark for himself with both ARCH ENEMY and SPIRITUAL BEGGARS.
